Mediation
Mediation is a voluntary, and confidential forum where an independent mediator aims to guide the parties to a settlement. The mediator does not give a decision, but instead assists the parties to an acceptable resolution of their differences. This gives them significant control over the decision-making process as well as flexibility because solutions do not have to be based on legal rights.
Murray Armes has extensive knowledge of the construction industry, the field of architecture and an understanding of the legal process and coupled with his tact and sensitive approach has helped numerous parties the best possible opportunity to settle issues between them.
He has accepted party nominations and is also included on a number of panels, including those of the RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) and CIArb (Chartered Institute of Arbitrators) and has participated in around 50 mediations.
